Eliyahu Ben Ze'ev Alpern

Eliyahu Ben Ze'ev Alpern is a Chicago-born Israeli artist living in the Upper Galilee, who specializes in 360-degree panoramic images of Israel. Eliyahu's work offers unique, thought-provoking visual and conceptual perspectives on Israel, not naturally perceived by the human eye. His images include breathtaking shots of holy sites, markets and natural vistas, both well known and off the beaten track. These photographs take in the full range of action and life in a scene, re-casting shape, line, and imagery.

Eliyahu made aliyah to Israel in 1997 and trained as a tour guide specializing in Israel Experience adventures. Combining guiding and photography, he created the first online virtual tour of Israel, www.IsraelVR.net, featuring 360-degree QuickTimeVR panoramas, still images, audio, video and text in an easy to navigate interface. Eliyahu has since created Virtual Tours for the education, tourism and commercial markets. Eliyahu's images are now available in a wide variety of sizes and media - from bookmarks to banners, light boxes to wallpaper, projections to whole-room installations.

Eliyahu runs Golem Productions (www.GolemProductions.com), a company that produces rich media and content for both online and offline projects including digital photography, streaming media, as well as film, video, and audio production. His art is on display at the Eliyahu Ben Ze'ev Gallery in Tzfat's picturesque Artists' Quarter and at www.EliyahuBenZev.com.

He has exhibited widely at galleries in the United States and Israel. Past clients include Birthright Israel, United Jewish Communities, United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, Mount Hermon Ski Resort, Columbia University Hillel.
